OSCAR RULES
 

 

Chassis

A: Must be a 90- degree inline configuration

B: Chassis may be made of any material

C: Cars will have a minimum of .055 ground clearance

D: Chassis cannot be visible or protrude past the body perimeter, when viewed from above or through the driver’s compartment

E: Either Oillite or ball bearings are legal for axles.

Tires

A: All four tires must touch and roll on the track.

B: All tires will have black sidewalls.

C: No tire will have less than ¾” diameter

D: When viewed from above tires may not extend beyond the widest part of the wheel opening, when the chassis is at its center point. (exception is the Econo/Sportsman class)

 

 

 

 

Motors (Sealed)*

A: Super 16D (Parma sealed #502), T-10 (Parma sealed #478), Death star 16D (Parma sealed #501) are approved for use in those classes that require a factory seal.

B: Motor brushes and springs can be adjusted or replaced.

C: No shunted brushes allowed.

*PACER Group -- Rapid & Checkered Flag Raceway (Sealed Motors)

A: Super 16D (Parma sealed #502), T-10 (Parma sealed #478), Death star 16D (Parma sealed #501) are approved for use in those classes that require a factory seal -- seal does not need to remain.

B: Non stock parts legal for use in these events are brushes and springs only. Everything else must be factory parts from the approved motors only.

C: No rewinds or de-winds allowed.

D: Magnets must be stock and remain in the stock position (no shimming). Zapping magnets is allowed.

E: Individual or factory blueprinting is allowed.

F: Stock arm balancing and commutator turning or refurbishing is allowed.

F: Oillite bushings are allowed -- no ball bearings

G: No shunted brushes allowed.

Motors (Open)

A: Only super 16D set-ups.

B: Super 16D arms.

C: D cans only.

D: No rewinds or de-winds allowed.

E: Magnets must remain in the stock position (no shimming).

F: Replacement magnets allowed (no cobalt magnets).

G: Oillite bushings and/or ball bearings are allowed (both ends of armature).

H: Individual or factory blueprinting allowed.

I: No shunted brushes allowed.

Bodies

A: Guide flags must not extend past the foremost part of the body when viewed from above.

B: All cars will have a driver.

C: All cars will be painted and numbered in at least three places. Lettering should be no smaller than ½” tall.

D: At no time are replacement windows or wind shields other than "Stock from the box" legal. No lexan is permitted

E: Body parts dislodged during the race must be re-attached during the next pit stop

F: No tire changes until completion of first heat

G: Bodies cannot be heated, stretched or excessively bent (more than 1/8 inch) to accommodate the chassis.

H: No thinning of bodies permitted. Rear wheel wells may be radiused to match tire size. No front wheel well modifications except in Econo/Sportsman class

CLASSES

 
 

 

Late Model Nascar

Scale: 1/24, 1/25

Years: 1980 to current

Bodies: Replica of an American made “NASCAR” sedan.

Driver: Vacuformed or resin cast

Body Height: 1/24th scale car height shall not be less than 1 7/8” tall, measured from the bottom of the chassis to the highest part of the roof (air tabs excluded). 1/25th scale prior to 2002 may not be trimmed. 1/25th scale 2002 to current can be trimmed to 1 7/8" tall as described above.

Modifications: Bodies can be trimmed to remove part of the front spoiler and side air dams (to stock valance height) for proper track clearance.

Motors: Super 16D (open)

 

 

 

 

Clubman

Scale: 1/24, 1/25

Years: Open

Bodies: Any production sports car that does not exceed 2-15/16" in width when measured at the center of the wheel well radius.

Tire Track: The rear tire track of the car cannot exceed 2-7/8".

Driver: Roadsters will use a resin cast or injection molded driver with (head, shoulders, steering wheel). A roll bar is also required or a headrest substitute. Coupes & Hardtops may use a vacuformed cockpit tray or an injection molded or resin cast figure and tray.

Body Height: Configuration and roofline must remain production (kit) stock.

Modifications: The only modifications allowed are to trim the front apron for guide flag clearance. At least 1/16" must be left in place at the bottom of the air intakes.

Motors: Parma sealed T-10, Parma sealed Deathstar (16D) , Parma Sealed Super 16D

Econo/Sportsman

Bodies: Any 1/24th or 1/25th scale ’58 to ’72 American full size or mid size make of car. (No pony cars, like Mustang, Camaro, Cuda or Challenger). Front and Rear wheel wells may be radiused for tire clearance . Configuration and roofline must be production (Kit) stock. Only a front windshield is required (may be plastic or realistic screen.

Chassis: Chassis must be a (rattle chassis) No hinges, or floppy pans.

Motor: Parma sealed Deathstar 16D Part # 501. Motor brushes, springs and wires can be adjusted or replaced. No other modifications can be made. Seal must be intact

Tires,Wheels and Axles:. Front tires must be 7/8" dia. x 1/2" minimum width. Rear tires must be 1" dia., they may be narrowed. Axles must be 1/8" front & rear (no ball bearings allowed). Front tires must remain stock other than the option of coating them with polish or super glue.

Gears: Any ratio as long as they are 48 pitch

Tech: Minimum roof height is 1.850” from bottom of chassis to the highest point of top. All cars will be teched for roof height.

A maximum width of 3.250" is allowed for front and rear track.

Jalopy

Scale: 1/24, 1/25

Years: 1932 to 1948

Bodies: Replica of a stock American-made sedan. Convertibles must use top supplies with the kit. No custom chopped cars permitted

Driver: Injection molded or resin cast. The Drivers chin may not be lower than the bottom of the side window.

Body Height: Configuration and roofline must be production (kit) stock.

Special Requirements: (1) All Running Boards must be plastic and in stock positions. Kits without running boards may utilize 40 thousands styrene fabricated running boards. (2) Open Hoods are allowed but a fully detailed engine with a Firewall must be installed. (3) Open cowls must be covered to conceal the chassis. (4) Bumpers and torpedo lights are optional.

Motors: Parma sealed T10, Parma sealed Deathstar , Parma Sealed Super 16D

Years: 1949 to 1957

Bodies: Replica of an American-made sedan or coupe.

Motors: Parma (sealed) T-10, Parma sealed Deathstar, Parma Sealed Super 16D

Scale: 1/24, 1/25

Years: 1958 to 1979

Bodies: Replica of an American made sedan.

Driver: Vacuformed or resin cast.

Body Height: Configuration and roofline must be production (kit) stock

Modifications: Trimming of the lower valance panel is allowed for proper guide flag clearance.

Motors: Super 16D (open)

Production Sports Cars

Scale: 1/24, 1/25

Years: Open

Bodies: Any production sports car body that does not exceed 3.25" in width measured at the center of the wheel well radius.

Dix Heures de Circuit Raide October 25th 2008

Rapid Race - Howie 503.252.7692, Bob 503.678.1292 -- Space is limited. One box per team.

Practice: October 24th doors open at 5:00 pm - for race teams and entered racecars only.

Event starts: October 25th doors open at 7:00 am.

Event: Ten-hour race consisting of Five minute heats with 90 second breaks between each heat and a night sequence.

Scale: 1/24

Years: Porsche 962Cs' only

Team members: Each team must have three drivers. Each team driver must have equal drive time.

Lights: Each car will have two working head-lights and tail-lights at the begining of the night sequence. Cars must have at least one working head-light and tail-light during each of the night sequences.

Car maintenance: To be preformed only under green light race conditions. No mainenance or repairs during 90 second breaks betweem heats. All cars will be in impound while not competing.

Minimum tire height: 0.75 in

Maximum front tire track: 3.25 in

Maximum rear tire track: 3.310

Minimum track clearance: 0.055 in of the track. Cars dragging on the track will be Black Flagged. Cars will have to pass track clearance without the guide flag supporting the chassis.

Bodies: Tamiya Porsche 962C kit # 24089, 24097. Each team must have different factory sponsor decals and be painted like the original car. Off chassis body inspection will occur. Any lightening of the body will not be allowed.

Body Height: Configuration and roofline must be production (kit) stock. No modifications to the Bodies at all.

Scale driver: Vacuformed or resin cast
